Good app, as long as constant updates don’t destroy something !

I have been using Skype regularly for many years, basically since the very beginning when the application first appeared online. It was a priceless feature that allowed me to communicate with my family and friends from all over the world. Over the years I have experienced constant “updates” and “fixes”. Sometimes good, but for most of the time terrible. One update several years ago almost prevented me from using Skype altogether: it was horrible, I couldn’t connect with anyone..
Than other apps came to the market, and all of a sudden I almost stopped using Skype altogether. Except lots of family members had computers that I set up for them over the years, running Skype. And that includes elderly people, not necessarily “tech savvy types” :-)
Because of that fact, I was forced to continue with Skype. It was easier to ask somebody else to do some fixes for them, updates on their end etc. than ask them to purchase a smart phone and learn other apps. So, overall - 5 stars, only because it was the first app that allowed free international calls.
So guys : keep Skype running, and please don’t destroy the app with some idiotic updates, OK ?

Skype is Improving .. Still a Work in Progress

Overall — I am very pleased with Skype. I’ve used it now on a regular basis (making 5-10 international calls) for the past few years. There are constant updates — so what I write might change (for better or worse .. ) at any time after this Review (which I’m writing on October 29, 2018) — depending on whether an Update improves or complicates matters. Usually updates improve — but not always. Most of the time, the technical aspects of my connection are pretty good — but sometimes they are so poor, that I have to leave Skype and go to another application. I WISH there was a way for me to identify WHERE the problem is at such times (ie, with my connection; with the connection of the person I am speaking to — or with Skype). But overall, connections are BETTER than they were a few years ago. Overall, the system of organizing contacts is fairly efficient — but sometimes a bit challenging on non-computer devices to identify and classify contacts into an easy-to-find grouping. THANKS for continuing to work to improve this app! — :)

Able to witness my 1st GRAND being Born on the other side of the World

The year before was a heartbreaker, as we experience the loss of the first grandbaby in the ninth month of pregnancy my grand was to be born on the 25th of February and the baby went to heaven on February 6, just 3 weeks to delivery. In December 2017, my daughter Skyped me to tell me that she was with child once again and of course the worries started. She is a proud Military wife that lives all the way in Okinawa. IT’S not like I can just jump in the car and go drive to see her, so Skyping on the regular was instrumental for our visual communications, so cut to the day it’s time for the baby 2 be born my girlfriend, which is my daughters godmother my daughter‘s best friend which is the babies godmother we all were witness for 27 hours straight skying. It was AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL, as the doctor and staff interacted with us...Skype..the next best thing w being there...THANK YOU

Skype for iPad is a finely implemented mobile version of the incredibly popular global communication tool, complete with voice and video chat, contact management, and more. Contoh soal tes toefl dan pembahasannya pdf. Where other desktop apps stumble in their transition to the touch screen, Skype thrives and it shows in nearly every facet of its iPad release.

When you open Skype for iPad, you must either sign in or create a new account. After doing so you can import contacts from any of your existing accounts -- including Outlook, Mail, or Apple's iContacts. Your contact list will populate on the right of the screen and you can connect with someone by tapping their portrait. The portraits are often fuzzy, but that's because of the desktop resolutions, not your iPad. Adding new contacts is easy, as is dialing someone directly if using Web-to-voice calling. While there are not nearly as many options here, such as file attachments or note taking, you can send video messages and photos remotely, even if the other person is offline.

Skype for iPad is not a full-featured version of the software -- you'll need a desktop or laptop for that -- but it perfectly captures what you will need and want out of the software when using your iPad on the go. This is a solid, well-executed piece of software in many ways.
